About ESAIM

The European Series in Applied and Industrial Mathematics (ESAIM) was founded in 1995 by the Société de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles (SMAI), with the support of the French Ministry of National Education and Research.

Initially the series comprised three electronic journals:

• ESAIM: COCV (Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations),
• ESAIM: P&S (Probability and Statistics)
• and ESAIM: Proceedings.

In 1999, the journal RAIRO-Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis (M2AN), which is also published under the auspices of the SMAI, was integrated into the ESAIM series (ESAIM: M2AN).
