Projection-based interpolation and automatic hp-adaptivity for finite element discretizations of elliptic and maxwell problems
Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences The University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX 78712, USA
Following a summary of results on the Projection-Based Interpolation for H1-, : H(curl)-, and H(div)-conforming finite elements, we review the main steps of the hp-algorithm that produces automatically a sequence of hp-refined meshes, and delivers exponential convergence for both regular and singular solutions. The algorithm is illustrated with numerical examples from acoustic and electromagnetic scattering.
