Optimal transportation of flows and Nonlinear Electromagnetism

The concept of optimal transportation of densities has become very popular in the 10 last years with numerous applications in very different fields of pure and applied mathematics. (See  for a recent review.) In this contribution, we discuss a generalization of this concept for flows (and not only densities) and its connection with the nonlinear Electromagnetism of Born and Infeld .
