Continuum limit of the discrete nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation

We study the convergence of solutions of the discrete nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation on an infinite lattice in the continuum limit, using recent tools developed in the context of nonlinear discrete dispersive equations. Our approach relies in particular on the use of bilinear estimates of the Shannon interpolation alongside controls on the growth of discrete Sobolev norms of the solution. We conclude by giving perspectives on uniform dispersive estimates for nonlinear waves on lattices.
Résumé
On étudie la convergence de solutions de l’équation de Klein-Gordon non-linéaire discrète sur une grille infinie dans la limite continue, en utilisant certains outils récents développés dans le contexte des équations dispersives discrètes. Notre approche repose notamment sur l’utilisation d’estimations bilinéaires de l’interpolation de Shannon ainsi que sur le contrôle de la croissance des normes de Sobolev discrètes de la solution. Des perspectives sont données autour d’estimations de dispersion uniformes pour les ondes non-linéaires sur des grilles.
